The Mystery Tree - Identified!

Well, I had a mystery tree that has been identified. My first hurdle in our new yard! Everyone that has come over to visit us has asked what this tree is and I had no idea. We finally figured it out today. The posters here at gardenstew were very helpful and friendly! Thank you all for the posts to my question.

I have a Loblolly Bay Tree!

The flowers smell really nice. It seems to be a tree that grows best in coastal or wet areas such as swamps. I was so excited to find out the name of it! If I'm going to take care of the existing plants in this new yard of mine, I need to know what they are. :)

My New Gardening Adventure

Well, I am new here and not only that, gardening is new to me. I hope to have some time this summer to work on my new yard and possibly post the results here. We recently moved to a new home and it has a great yard that gives me lots of ideas. It needs some work but there are some things already in place that I just need to take care of. The problem is... I have never been really good at taking care of plants. I hope to change that, though. This yard could really shine if I could just get in the groove and learn how. If it works, I'll post some pictures and maybe this will turn into a new hobby for me. :)
