Sun Room Makeover.

Category: Donna's Park | Posted: Sun Jan 11, 2015 5:55 pm

Started this project Dec. 26, 2014. Finished last night Jan. 10, 2015. Carpet was in sad shape and time to go.
The pillars and stone wall I make when this room was first built. The pillars are made of styrafoam and covered with a product call Drivit. It is a fiberglass resin mixed with water and that dries hard as concrete.I covered styafoam with the drivit and sanded them smooth after drying. The walls are also drivit. Took almost 1000 ft. of detailing tape to get lines between stone look blocks. Drivit was applied by the handful and squished around. Then I airbrushed the stones to get the colors. When dry I pulled off tape.
My new floor is an Allur product. It's vinyl planking with a 25 year warranty. I think I'm going to like it.
It took less then 7 hours to put down.

California A step Back in Time 165 years

Category: Donna's Park | Posted: Fri Feb 07, 2014 8:07 pm

This really was a step back in time.
Little Washington Gold Mining Town was stamped out in 1849. It is in the Sierra Nevada mountains, in a canyon between 5000 foot high mountain ridges and on the banks of the Yuba river It have over 5000 gold mines, some still being mined.
The Washington Hotel was names after our first president. President Grover Cleveland and Wyatt Earp both slept here. It is still operating as a hotel, restaurant and bar.

The evolution of my gardens and home

Category: Donna's Park | Posted: Fri Nov 09, 2012 1:37 pm

We moved here from western NY 23 years ago. Hubbies job brought us here. These are pictures of our home and yard from day 1 to now. Some are repeats to put them all together. My husband and I did all the building and landscaping ourselves. The siding was the only thing we hired done. People ask me all the time, "what's next"? I never know until it strikes.

Back yard. Notice not one flower anywhere. House was brown. ( photo / image / picture from Donna S's Garden )

All trees in back ground are gone now due to storms. ( photo / image / picture from Donna S's Garden )

2nd or third year of same area. ( photo / image / picture from Donna S's Garden )

House goes blue and gardens grow bigger. ( photo / image / picture from Donna S's Garden )

Same area with hot tub. Hot tub is also gone now. ( photo / image / picture from Donna S's Garden )

( photo / image / picture from Donna S's Garden )

Aggregate patio. Was terrible to keep clean. ( photo / image / picture from Donna S's Garden )

Deck gets built over aggregate. ( photo / image / picture from Donna S's Garden )

Almost forgot. We built sunroom before deck. And had the house sided after deck . ( photo / image / picture from Donna S's Garden )

Hot tub room becomes part of deck. ( photo / image / picture from Donna S's Garden )

Greenhouse added last fall off backside of deck. ( photo / image / picture from Donna S's Garden )

( photo / image / picture from Donna S's Garden )

Notice fence. That is where all the trees were. ( photo / image / picture from Donna S's Garden )
