Why I love Holland so much.
Firstly it's to visit our friends. Sjoerd and his partner don't have a garden of their own but they do have the most fantastic allotment. Sjoerd grows the most wonderful, and beautiful flowers and his other half is the queen of veggie growing. Then there's the entertainment: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() and the glorious scenery: ![]() ![]() Couldn't resist snapping this local woman asleep with her little dog outside her house!! ![]() ![]() ![]() And of course not forgetting the wonderful bulb fields. ![]() Just a few of the reasons why we love to visit Holland!! Wow Eileen your hair is long and beautiful!! Holland looks like it is sooo full of culture!! I would love to travel there one day!! The dog in the carriage is so cute with the scarf around his neck!! The last pic is absolutely astounding!!! I love the colors, are those tulip fields?
Yes Julie and they were even more beautiful in real life. There were also fields full of hyacinths and their wonderful scent perfumed the air for miles.
Oh Eileen I love hyacinths and their wonderful scent!! I can't imagine smelling the fragrance of thousands of them at once, it must be truly amazing!!!
Eileen,
Holland is my ancestral home. I do wish it were my present one. The gardens there are incredible, aren't they? I usually visit every couple of years and love it more every time. Having relatives there helps with costs.
Lovely photos. The first horse is Norwegian, a fjord horse.
I just love Holland, spent nearly three years there. We lived in a small village between Venlo and Nijmegan(sp?). Our landlord had a beautiful garden and we picked fresh asparagus from the field behind us....which was on the banks of the river Maas. If I hadn't come to Canada I would have gone back there.
