Spring Arrived After A Long TimeAfter one of the longest winter, spring has arrived in the UK. But the cold nights makes most of the plants stll hesitate to bloom. I was quite happy to see some of the first daffodils and bluebells on my way to work this morning. ![]() Dafffodils2 ( photo / image / picture from markjohn's Garden ) ![]() Daffodil ( photo / image / picture from markjohn's Garden ) The cold snaps made all the flowering plants out of sync and this spring is not as good as any previous ones I have seen. The migrating birds also seems to struggle a lot. I couldn't find usual birds until April. Even then only a few. But those who have arrived earlier has already brood and find less competition for food. Hopefully next year, they all will have a better spring. We're having problems here in Scotland too. It seems so strange seeing daffoldils and tulips still in bloom at this time of year. My trees have only just got new leaves which is sooo very late in the season. At least a few hardy bees have decided to come into the garden so, hopefully, they will pollinate my fruit trees and I'll have a crop this year to pick.
