Day 1

Day 1I started the garden Sat. March 7, 2009. I ran the tiller while Grandad drove the tractor. We worked up four rows, each one 200ft long. We planted potatos, onions, collards, spinach, turnips, radishes, kale, lettuce, and kohl rabi. We also set out 18 heads of cabbage and 18 broccli stalks. Then he went in to rest and I went and loaded manure to prepare a row of tomatos. After the manure was down, he used the tractor to cover it with dirt. Then he took a nap and I went fishing. It was too windy and I didn,t catch a thing. This blog entry has been viewed 451 times

Sounds like you will sleep well tonight Griphook!
Gosh you certainly had your work cut out for you today Griphook. I hope everything that you've planted stays pest free and grows well for you and your Grandad. What a pity you didn't catch anything when you went fishing - maybe next time.
I'm so envious, both of the planting and the fishing. We're still cold here.
Now that is what I would call a serious workout without going to a gymnasium. Well done Griphook. Tell me - is it freshwater or salt water where you fish?
griphook.
Palm Tree, I went fishing in my Grandad's one acre pond. It is fresh water with catfish, smallmouth bass, crappie, and brim. We may put stock it with tilapia this year. Login or register to leave a comment. |
