buds & blooms!

Category: nature's marvels | Posted: Sat Feb 05, 2011 6:56 am

well, today, let me post some of my anthuriums. the pink one took about 10 days to reach the stage A5. same time with red one also. Ever wonder how the buds are folded and kept tight before it blooms full? i love how the lantana flowers are folded when they are buds. beautiful. compared with that, anthurium folds are simple.
i read in the reader's digest about a professor who holds a doctorate in origami - mathematician Eric Demaine (rd - december issue) he teaches the mathematics of folding paper.

ok, here are my flowers -

What brilliant colours, GF!
It really is a wonder of nature, how the flowers remain so tightly folded. yes indeed.

Thanks for showing more of your lovely flowers.
