General Overview of Changes I need to make

Category: spring to do list | Posted: Fri Feb 27, 2009 6:58 pm

One of the first changes I will need to make this spring are to move the plants from the fenced garden to other beds. These changes I have mapped out in the PPT file. This area is going to be dedicated to vegetables this year. I will need to dig up the remaining area and prepare the soil for the veges!!!

The orchard is going to house the mints that need to be moved - hopefully they will keep the deer away from the trees. We need to pick a spot for the strawberry bed and the berries (blue, black and rasp). These sites will need to be worked as soon as possible also.

I will need to order a load of mulch, and topsoil. Talk to Little Ron about manure. ALL the beds will need some of this to be worked into the soil. Hopefully I will be adding a few new hostas to the mix around the house. I have picked out 3 varieties that I want to add. Lets see if I get them ordered before they are sold out.

That is my goal for this weekend. Get the berries ordered and maybe even some hostas. The rest of my budget will be spent on the extras needed for the edible gardens.

The kids and I saw a show with a pondless waterfall. If we have time, that is on our wishlist for summer.

The sidewalk out front is also in need of a complete overhaul! I would like to plant some thyme inbetween my stepping stones. If I get this much done, the rest of summer will be spent tending the beds and enjoying the lake.

I can feel it - spring is on the way!!!

I sure hope you are right about spring being on the way - it sure doesn't feel like it today!

Your organized and ready to go! You are inspirational.

Love the idea of putting the mint into the orchard. I am going to use that idea. Have had lemon balm that has self sowed back there but need a place to put the spearmint so that it doesn't get inito everything else.
