Been Awhile.. Glory of Snow, another rock wall added.

Category: Roses and Garden | Posted: Sat Apr 03, 2010 11:26 pm

Its been several months.. unless you guys wanted to see pictures of seed packs and winter sowing jugs, or daylily seedlings started.. which do not look like more than thick blades of grass at such early ages.. doesn't mean I haven't been busy though..

Glory of Snow (Chinodoxa) was second flower to bloom this year after crocus.. Crocus of course skipped blooming the week and half of cool temp rainy type days and decided to come out on our way above average temp weekend ... to fry in the sun! HA.

I have planted Peas (variety frosty) and have Lettuce sprouts coming up as well.

Did another rock wall this year.. 3 times as long, but not as wide, this isnt for retaining, just for looks, planning on putting some low growing stuff in front, like creeping phlox , I dont want to overpowering the Stone Work..

Pick of a Quartz Granite Mix, that I literally rolled several hundred feet to this spot.. I found a vein of quartz up in some hills near my home. It was easy to find hard to move, I couldnt pick it up but I could roll it , I estimate its around 350..

Im pretty much done with the winter sowing, I expanded my veggie garden another 2 feet by 6 .. still small, but will be large enough for what I'm doing. Ive gotten a couple truckloads of compost to start on my back daylily beds as well.. I still need more to expand a bog area. Roses are coming soon as well.

I couldnt resist a few half price oriental casablanca bulbs as well at lowes.

Silverkelt..

The rock wall will be a great foundation for the plantings. Can't wait to see what it will look like in a few months time. :)

Gosh, rolling rocks is hard work! I'm very impressed by your efforts.

I've always wanted a rock wall, preferably one of the old fencing ones, already covered with moss and lichen. Guess I can't have everything, can I?
