Snow birds

Category: Visitors in the garden | Posted: Mon Dec 07, 2009 9:58 pm

The snow only last eight hours but I am thankful to have my photos. I am glad I got out early before the snow melted. The snow provided a great backdrop for our feathered friends.

My knock out roses are still blooming despite the snow and freezing temperatures.

Your roses and your little feathered friends all look so good against the white of the snow. So glad you managed to get photographs of them to show us.

I love the pictures, espically the finches on the hummingbird feeder. Those are too funny. I am sure they are checking their GPS to see where they took the wrong turn.

My knockouts are also still in bloom in spite of two straight nights of below freezing weather. I am waiting for them to die off so I can trim the bushes by 1/3 now and again in the spring.

The first one is my favorite.
You do have lovely feeders also.
They go crazy for food after a snow.
I have to fill my feeder. I did do the suet but not the feeder.
Thanks for the sharing .

Lovely...the snow, the feeder and the birds are all so nature book perfect. Love them all and couldn't pick a favorite :)

I love your photos and a few of those birds I see in my garden here in CA. Wow! And the roses are blooming in such cold weather?
