First day of spring

Category: Spring 2010 | Posted: Sun Mar 21, 2010 7:01 pm

58* sunny in the AM but blustery in the evening.

After 3 days of working the ground by my septic tank. My tire garden is ready to fill and plant.I took 3 truck loads of grass, weeds and sod to the compost pile. I removed all the large rocks and anything that will poke through the visqueen plastic. I marked the lid to the septic with a 1x1 . I kept a 3 ft. area around it as an access point.

I have three rows of 10 tires and 6 double stacked low profile racing tires for my Tomatoes. The tops of the tires that I cut, off, I am going to use as tree rings in my orchard. I will have to get a diamond blade for my Sawz-All to cut through the tire beads, the carbide ones just dull to fast.

That's a sizable tyre garden. Looking forward to updates.
