Kaka Beaks and craziness...Firstly thank you for trying to help me post photos..finally have retired geriatric laptop and took delivery of new desktop yesterday.Had no idea how cranky poor old thing was until now,am planning to try the photos again. The first of my New Zealand seeds have peeped through this morning. Kaka Beak (clianthus puniceus) it's a beautiful climber with red "parrot beak" flowers..or at least I hope it will be! Don't you just love when the surface of the soil gently lifts a little and you just KNOW that a tiny life is going to emerge any day? Another little bonus I have found amongst the chaos of my local garden centre, it maybe tricky that nothing is labelled but I keep finding seedlings in pots I have bought.A few months ago I potted up a little evergreen stowaway and now it's 4ins high I realise it's a Kumquat..lovely. Now for the confession of craziness ( I'm a granny with BiPolar Disorder so crazy comes naturally but this was dumb even for me!).I was in the front garden hanging out some washing and a neighbour stopped and gave me a bag of spinach (they are all endlessly kind and generous here) we are already in the high seventies in Crete so I popped the bag in the fridge.Last night I decided lovely fresh spinach with lamb..until I opened up the bag from the fridge and discovered the clothes pegs!!? And I still cannot find the spinach..honestly, send in the men with white coats... This blog entry has been viewed 191 times

Hilary I couldn't help but laugh about the spinach/clothes pegs. Don't you feel really stupid when something like that happens? I know I do!! I hope the lamb tasted good despite not having spinach to go with it.
lol I spit water all over my laptop...thank goodness I have grandchildren therefore I have a keyboard cover for it! I have done the same thing and found the missing box of pasta in the car a month later while cleaning out my back seat! It was good and tasty......
Well Delly I checked everywhere I could think of and spinach is still missing. In this heat don't think I want to find it now!But I did find a whole lot lot of other stuff I haven't seen in a while.... Login or register to leave a comment. |
