Category: nature's marvels | Posted: Thu Sep 24, 2009 7:19 am I am back after a long time. even though i make time to check the gardenstew, i don't get much time to write. the rains have come to an end - looks like it. we do get some showers with thunder and lightning. weather is fairly cool for this side of the globe. all the plants are fresh and starting to bloom. nice to be out in the garden. we are going to be very busy with a jan wedding coming up. I found a rare visitor in my garden on my morning rounds today. I am not sure from where it would have come. I haven't seen one like this here before. if someone can name it I would be happy.

Category: nature's marvels | Posted: Wed Jul 08, 2009 5:31 am I feel so thrilled. morning. open the internet. get to gardenstew.com. and there it is. the picture i uploaded just the previous day. wow! i am happy. when i visit my plants in the morning, and see them smiling at me, i feel the same way. everyday is wonderful and miraculus. i am so grateful in my heart. thank you everyone at gardenstew team. the rains are heavy, it has been raining almost continously for the past 10 days. many of my bonsai pots are a sad sight. since i have left them in the rain, they have lost some soil. i have to repot many of them once the rain stops. this has stopped flowering now.

Category: nature's marvels | Posted: Tue Jun 02, 2009 7:01 am something happened to the connection. i get bugged waiting it to load. ok, this place chirrapunji is small place but here is this water falls called Noakali falls. it is beautiful. there is the story of a mother committing suicide by jumping down there, and her name was Noakali. Category: nature's marvels | Posted: Tue Jun 02, 2009 6:08 am well, we had only three days there, so we could see only a few places. but that was really awesome. this is the elephant falls, which has 3 levels. itseems there was a rock in the shape of an elephant but it was destroyed in an earthquake in the 19th century. it is wonderful they have preserved these forests without pollution. we heard that the people of Meghalaya refused to have a railway line in the state to keep the place clean and pollution free. the story of a holiday
Category: nature's marvels | Posted: Mon Jun 01, 2009 5:43 am hello, i am very happy because we could get away from here for a few days. and we went to a far off place - Shillong - that is at the far east end of India. we had only heard of the place, we had studied in school that the place Chirrapunji in Meghalaya gets the highest rainfall in the world. Shillong is the capital of the state Meghalaya. it is about 4000mts above sea level. and the climate there is so pleasant, we felt we could stay forever. these are a few of the places we saw. so sad we couldn't stay for long. summer flowers
Category: nature's marvels | Posted: Wed May 27, 2009 3:46 pm hello, i am back. each time i write and try post some picture, the connection goes. this happened many times. so, i hope i will be able to finish this. lots of flowers in the garden now. we had a hot summer and now are waiting for the monsoon. any day now it will start. really waiting for the heat to come down. this is one hibiscus i found one day, with two colours, and it was on the same branch.
