Christmas Bird Count Category: Misc. | Posted: Sun Jan 03, 2010 5:29 pm I went on the Christmas Bird Count yesterday; plenty of common species, but some rare ones too. A female Wood Duck and 4 or 5 species of unusual gull: Lesser Black-backed, Great Black-backed, Thayer's, Glaucous, and California? I don't think any of us were sure about the California--it doesn't help that it's apparently never been seen in the area before.
