first batch of mince pies

    These are to eat now and not for Christmas, i'll do more later. These are the foil cases greeced and pastry in.

    This is the cut pastry after i used the first 12 bases.
    IMG_20221125_145312_(864_x_1536_pixel).jpg The mince meat in and the tops, I brushed the tops with milk and sprinkled caster sugar on it. The mince meat had use by 2015 on lid but i bought it a few years before and is still ok, put a bit of sherry in but not a lot because there would be too much and run out when cooking.

    My brother and his wife are vegetarian, one year at Christmas they had curried cauliflower bake. In the 70s i went to stay with them for a week and i had millet rissoles, it was very nice but at the time i could only think of bird seed.
