I think that one is Rhapsody in blue.. there are a couple more blue/purple ones in the big gardens out front. I'll try to remember and check them out tomorrow Annie[/QUOTE] Thanks Tetters. If I can find them sold here in the States I need to get one !! Purple roses make me greedy for them !!
We have 'veilchenblau' and 'blue for you' and another I can't remember the name of, and it's quite easy to get them confused (especially at my age)
Ough!! Vielchenblau is a climber, isn't it? I've looked for that here and couldn't find anyone selling it.
Today’s pics. ‘Wine and Roses’ Weigela ‘California lilac’. Ceanothus Mini rose ‘Happy Trails’ Peony ‘Hot Chocolate’ Rosa nitida ‘Shining Rose’ Tiny Doug fir seedling growing on the chimney. O goodie crawling up on the tiles is not my forte. I think I’ll wait and see if the hot summer sun will take care of it . North garden Driveway
@Pacnorwest I really admire that rustic style pergola !! Don't rebuild it !! It's gorgeous as it is !!
Thank you that pergola is really past its prime. But what’s a girl to do? My DH built that simply outta self defense so many plants shrubs were holding up a climbing rose that became huge. Well the pergola was sort of a force build so to speak. I took it out and replaced it with a calmer rose rambler.
Not much today just a few shrubs and small trees are starting to bloom. Very serious overcast skies today. Purple leaf and blooms of Cotinis smoke tree. The ground squirrels left some of the wisteria for me It was almost totally eaten. It did not bloom this year first time in years. It’s slowly showing growth this spring. I need to trim it soon before it gets outta control. Chinese Fringe tree showing some buds. Also attacked viciously by the ground squirrels and slowly recovering. And the grape vines are slowly recovering from the ground squirrels attack too. New growth is a good sign. Ground cover flowering ? ? Can’t remember the name ?
@Pacnorwest is that horse wearing a moss halter with his fly hood.? I The ground cover looks like a Euphorbia.
Thank youn@Anniekay yes it’s Euphorbia… Geezz. Old timers is catching up with me.. The horse on the pic is not wearing a fly mask yet …to soon. But as you know the horse flies will come… Now I just need some dung beetles to carry away the horse dung.
I miss having horse manure. I had a cantaloupe vine growing out of my manure pile and forgot about it. I let my Mule Millie out of her pasture to graze the grass and she ate every. single. leaf off my cantaloupe vine !! Just leaf stems sticking up !! That Mule !!
