We have 'veilchenblau' and 'blue for you' and another I can't remember the name of, and it's quite easy to get them confused (especially at my age)

Thank you that pergola is really past its prime. But what’s a girl to do? My DH built that simply outta self defense so many plants shrubs were holding up a climbing rose that became huge. Well the pergola was sort of a force build so to speak. I took it out and replaced it with a calmer rose rambler.

Not much today just a few shrubs and small trees are starting to bloom.

    Very serious overcast skies today.

Purple leaf and blooms of Cotinis smoke tree.

The ground squirrels left some of the wisteria for me It was almost totally eaten. It did not bloom this year first time in years. It’s slowly showing growth this spring. I need to trim it soon before it gets outta control.
    IMG_9645.jpeg

Chinese Fringe tree showing some buds. Also attacked viciously by the ground squirrels and slowly recovering.
    IMG_9661.jpeg

And the grape vines are slowly recovering from the ground squirrels attack too. New growth is a good sign.

Ground cover flowering ? ? Can’t remember the name ?

I miss having horse manure. I had a cantaloupe vine growing out of my manure pile and forgot about it. I let my Mule Millie out of her pasture to graze the grass and she ate every. single. leaf off my cantaloupe vine !! Just leaf stems sticking up !! :smt044
    That Mule !!
