we have dirt daubers that do the same thing ! not sure what the correct name is ! non agressive little critters that just flit about !

Yes you can ! I like a heavier sort but any will do ! I just spray with non-stick or brush lightly with canola oil ,,Then add the eggplant !...

You can also bake them @375 for 15 to 20 minutes ! just oil the pan lightly and turn halfway through !

oh,, that is excellent ! slice in about 1/2 inch slices and lightly salt the slices discarding the end about a half hour before cooking, no need...
