When we do a water change on our koi pond we run the water through a piece of hose into the flower bed. They love it.
Welcome. While you need good drainage, too much would be a problem. You don't want to have to water these daily.

I grow muscadines here. They smell wonderful and make great juice. They are also tough and very maintenance free.
I actually DO fertilize my tiny seedlings with a very diluted solution. I always feel the little buggers are hungry. 8)
