6 ft. tall with clusters of yellow tube-like flowers, plant or weed?

My picture was too large to upload. I thought I was growing a sunflower in Southern California; it’s tall with large leaves and yellow flower clusters

 

Not sure without a picture. It could be nicotine plant.
