We're all anxious to get our hands back in the soil again and start GARDENING! Thought these two tips might come in handy for those of us who never wear gloves when "grubbin' in the ole earth". To remove garden stains from your hands, try placing about 1/2 teaspoon sugar with the soap lather you wash your hands with, you'll be amazed how easy the stains are removed. Just LOVE this one and it works like a CHARM! To keep dirt from building up under fingernails while gardening, drag them over a bar of soap before beginning chores, dirt will wash right out when done.
Good suggestions Weeds, especially the soap under the fingernails one. I do wear gloves but dirt sifts thru the fabric and my fingernails get diry anyway. I will have to try that one for sure.
Digging in the dirt is what gardeners do best and this is just the best tip to keep the finger nails clean. I also do the soap trick. It is really the best tip. I even do the soap trick when dusting indoors as well.
Wonder if 811 makes house calls to Norway,,lol. Anyways,,, Weeds these are great tips, and i do have a problem with the dirt under the nails. I have use the sugar scrub, and that works like a charm too. I never wear gloves so i'm going to have to try the soap trick,,, thanks for the post!!
This post was removed by mistake. My apologies to call811beforeyoudig. I have one! Don't forget to call before you dig! Even for simple projects, like planting shrubs or putting up a mailbox, it's important to call 811 (http://www.call811.com). There could be utility lines where you break ground - sometimes multiple lines are in a common area and their depths vary, so you might not know about all of them.
