Our friend Keith just called. He had an interesting day. Animal Control called him to say his cat was brought in this morning. They scanned his micro chip for owner info. Keith was very surprised, because "Bob" has been gone for 159 days! Wow! We thought he was a goner! A woman brought him to the shelter after seeing him around a few days. He was about 3 miles from his country home. Keith took him to his vet. He checked out OK, but has lost 1/2 his body weight. So, he is back home now, safe and feeling real lucky! Purring on his "person's" lap. What a great story!
Absolutely great story!. I wonder how that cat managed to get so far from home...and why on earth it left. Well, at least it is back now and can get some quality time with his family.

What a surprise that must have been for Keith after 159 days!! Now Bob can have a very happy Christmas back where he belongs. :-D
