Hi, last week I attended one of my regular Garden club meetings, the first for the year and saw this lovely pot plant, it is a medinalla, common name is malaysian orchid. It was so beautiful and won 1st prize in it section, I thought others might like to admire it too.
I have it in the garden as a shrub but it is not fully out yet, I like the idea of it being in a pot, I think I might try a cutting.

That Medinalla does indeed look quite attractive. That would be really nice to grow in the garden.
I would be interested to hear how your plans to do cuttings and then grow them in a pot go.
I like plants that bloom in that way.

I can see why it won first prize as it's a real beauty. I hope your cuttings 'take' and that you get the pot plants you want from them.

Very pretty and unique blooms. I'd have voted for it too!

I have always admired this plant when seeing it in exotic glass houses. How lovely to be able to grow it out doors, good luck with your cuttings.

The plant's very pretty. :D Good luck with taking cuttings from yours.

I'm rather envious. I wanted to take one home a couple of years back but I usually kill houseplants so I left it. :D

Very nice. No wonder it's a prize winner.
I see it sometimes in flower shops around here... but way too expensive and it kinda looks like a plant i'd successfully kill.

A show-stopper in any garden. Are they good for butterflies?

Thankyou Jerry, I havent noticed any butterfly activity on the plant in the garden, and I do have lots of butterflies, the native birds like it though, the honey eaters find it attractive.
