My Grandma is having some problems with her Aloe and I am not sure how to help. Some of the bottom leaves are limp. All of the leaves feel a little squishy. And the base of the plant is discolored. It sits on her porch facing west, there are a fair amount of trees but ot still gets good sun in late afternoon/evening. One week ago there was a ginormous rain. it has not been watered since and the soil is still wet after trying the pencil test. Advice?
How was it doing before the big rain ? Sometimes they naturally lose leaves as they put out top growth ! I water mine maybe once every three weeks if its lucky ! Make sure it is getting good drainage ! The two main problems with aloe are either too much water (likely) or too little !
