Quilt number 2 is ready for the long arm.

This one is finished, it's the one I repaired and was the first one that I did on the long arm and the first one other than squares.

And here's the back of this one.

I just cut fabric for the back of another quilt top. I'll sew it tomorrow so I can take it in and sandwich it after yoga on Monday. I have an appointment for the 21st of next month to use the machine again.

This is the start of my next quilt top. This will be for Quilts of Valor, which gives quilts to Veterans. Patriotic colors / themes are encouraged, so mine is based on that. I will make a quilt based on stars.

I have blocks cut out for the center six, which will have off-white borders. I'm trying to decide what looks best at the center of the stars - maybe red stars have blue centers, and vice versa? Also might depend on what I have left when cutting for more of the stars. There aren't a lot- eighteen stats altogether, plus borders.

@Daniel… Every garden begins with a single seed, just like every quilt begins with a single square.
Every flower has its own occasion and each square has its own story to tell.
At first you can’t see how one goes with the other, but when the last flower blooms and the last square is sewn.
The big picture finally becomes clear.

Im glad you have access to a long arm machine. I wouldn't know how to use one.

I'm just now learning. They teach as you go. I don't know how to thread it, yet, but I'm a big note taker and took notes for what I have learned.

Love the new pattern, Daniel! I just finished another quilt top for the granddaughter that lives with me. I need to sew the backing together and it will be ready to sandwich together. I have the rows for my grandson's quilt done. Then one more grandson and I have them done.

This is the same pattern as my other granddaughter, but this one's more pink and the other is more red. 17484081468943192005788533723493.jpg

And these are the rows I need to sew together and then I have blue for the edging. And the backing will be Seahawks.

Those are post its so I know which row goes where.I'm doing quick and easy patterns until I get all the grandkids quilts done. The last one will be split rail pattern.

Finally got the first 6 blocks made for the veterans' quilt. These are stars with dark points and cream corners. They will have a cream background added next to position them "on point" (diagonally) in the final quilt.

    IMG_2885.jpeg

There will be 18 stars. The other 12 have cream points and dark corners, and dark background.

It's been slow going, partly because I don't have an actual pattern, I didn't buy enough fabric so had to order more, plus some of the colors didn't work for me and I replaced those too.

Today I cut fabric for half of the other blocks, and started sewing them together.
