I am germinating seeds between sheets of wet paper towel , placed in plastic bags and zipped shut.
Keep it in a warm spot ,(not sun) till they sprout.
Then I put them into soil and watch them grow.

Lots of them germinate in a week or less..
    Try it

    Filters would work too.
But I don't have any .. No perk family.

    I find it fun.

I'm using filters also. already started coleus and now have them in potting soil. They're very easy to start this way. Coleus are so pretty.

I have tried this method before, with good success. I have an unopened packet of Coleous seed, so maybe, seeing the advice of the post above, I will give it another go. It's a clear indication of how seeds are progressing, anyway!

This is actually a great idea - a nice way to cultivate your own sprouts for salads, etc.
I am going to give it a try with some cilantro seeds. 8)

    Sure

That way you know quickly which seeds are good.
I plant them in soil and most grow.

I think I'll try some coleus this way this year. Last year I planted some seeds, but not a one came up. What about sun, full or partial?
