Keep warm, Captain! We are going down to 19 degrees tonight, and we have a heat band around the chickens' waterer, the heat lamp on in the coop, and my herbs in the barn covered. I have memories of your temperatures from when we lived in upstate NY, and I don't ever want to experience anything like that again. Glad you have plenty of wood in, and that you can cope.
It was a doozy here yesterday and last night, but we have warmed up to -12°C (10°F). Now I will go out and do my errands and shopping that I was going to do yesterday. At -26°C (-15°F) it was a little colder than I wanted to venture outdoors in!
At 9a.m. we are up to a balmy 14F degrees. The wind is really howling too. Yesterday the high was something like 5F. I'm having a bit of cabin fever.
