I had my husband take a picture of the sunrise the other day because I didn't have shoes
...I think they turned out great. I want to submit one in a contest and would like your opinion which one. None were photo-shopped...this is the beautiful color we see. Please let me know which one you prefer.... It is for the magazine "OUR WISCONSIN". This was taken on our property and it is Lake Winneconne.

I think the composition in photo # 3 is better. It depicts a quiet serene scene while 1 and 2 indicate activity by way of the street/house lights. The Color in photo # 2 is muted while the color in # 3 invokes more feeling. The balance in photo 1 and 2 is one sided. If 1 or 2 is used the lights should be removed. I would submit # 3.

So Jerry...remove the lights from the houses? I would have to learn how to do that. I like # 3 too and then # 1 . The colors do change so quickly and if your not there to snap a picture by the time you get back it has changed. Thank you...I hope I get some more opinions.

Jerry...I wish I had your knowledge on photos ....my husband has only used my camera a few times when I can't get a picture but when he does it usually turns out pretty good. I think he has steadier hands than I do, I just point and shoot.

Removing the lights is easy, but I would need permission to copy and modify your picture.

Your husband has a good eye for composition.

For balance you could have someone hold a branch in the picture, being careful to photograph the branch and not their hand.

I chose number 4 but the rest of the house liked number 2. The tree in number 3 covers the picture too much, the composition of 2 is better, just the distant lights detract in my opinion, for what it is worth.

Hmmm, I must be loosing it.... Originally were there 3 or 4 pictures?.....first I counted 3, then there are 4. Odif saying #4 made me recount. The pictures are similar it is easy to scroll down and lose count.:( Can I change my vote? Now that I see 4 pictures, can I refile my opinion?

sure Jerry...I had just mentioned that my husband said we should send my picture to the magazine and I thought his were better. I do have photoshop from years ago but I don't know how to use it and never took the time to learn it...

I like either 1 or 2.... maybe #2. I like the uneven look of the dark tree & brush to the right. Plus I love all the different hues. Very interesting. Pulls you in. A lot to look at. #4 is very "pretty" but not interesting, too flat. I agree with Jerry though, I would lose those lights in # 2.

Ok, I just asked my daughter & husband. Daughter likes #2 because she likes the hues. She did say she likes the tree in #4 on the right better than the tree in #2, but overall likes # 2 the best.

Hubbie asked me if this was an opthamologist's exam! Then he asked me if it was Rorschach test. He finally said he likes #1 & #2 the best. He says # 1 & 2 look the same to him.

But Sherry I really do think all of them are beautiful shots. I am VERY impressed. Good luck. Can we vote for them? In the real contest I mean?
