I orderd some seeds from a seed company. One of them is Jujube or Chinese Dates. The seeds are enclosed in a very hard shell. When I searched the net for germenation instruction, the recommendation was to soak the shells in hot water then put them in a wet paper towel and put them in the fridge for a month.
However one video in the youtube explained that if you break the shell (gently!) and get the seed and put it in a paper towel they will sprout in four days.
I did that and to my surprise in a week I get some seeds sprouting.

Will let you know of the progress of the seedlings.

Gosh you're really on a roll with germinating aren't you? So pleased that the Chinese date seeds are beginning to show signs of life for you.

I want to know where you are planting all these things you have grown from seed ? You must have a yard that looks like the garden of eden !

Hi Mart, hope you are fine. I have a 1ha (10,000 m2) piece of land that I dream of making a botanic garden one day.

Hey there !! All is fine here hope you are as well. Can you translate that piece of land into acres ? Just roughly doesn`t need to be exact. I am curious.

That jujube is a very invasive tree. I had one in my yard and finally cut it down. The pest was throwing seeds everywhere, and the deer would eat them and the seeds came up where the deer moved them as well. Little trees everywhere.
