Did someone say they had yellow Clivia?

My hubby really likes that color so I thought I'd go out and look for some for him. I love it that he loves plants alone with me. He is such a good guy.

But she posted a picture of a beautiful one, too. I love them both. I want one of each and I just may go down to the neighbors and snatch me a start from hers. Hers is like yours, all orange.

Carolyn--I have plenty of seeds coming ripe. (They are the red berries in the 2nd photo of my posting). I can send you some. The only problem is that they take f-o-r-e-v-e-r to grow to blooming size.

I have two clivias of other colors, supposedly. They have not bloomed yet so I don't really know. One is supposed to be yellow, the other one peach. They are young-uns yet so it will be a while before I get blooms, seeds or offshoots.

Cayuga Morning, Thank you for the info. I was going to ask you if you would share the yellow seeds with me but my hubby would never wait that long. I was unaware of the peach color. I should not tell the hubby of that. :D

It may be interesting for you to know that here in Holland ...perhaps 20 years ago there were Clivia's available in the garden centres that were pale blueish-purple.

I saw them for a couple of years and then never again since then.
I have looked and looked and looked and can find them nowhere. It has me doubting my own memory. --Gurrrrrr.

If you could see these, I think that you would find them quite attractive.

I wonder if they had been dyed or something.

    Anyway...look at this webpage here:

    http://www.aliexpress.com/item-img/Indo ... 56783.html

It looks so odd, doesn't it. Almost not real.

Wow Sjoerd! That is amazing. The leaves do look like clivia & the shape of the flowers look like clivia too. I would not have believed it if you hadn't posted that link. I was reading your post & thinking, "oh he's just talking about an Agapanthus".

Nothing here that is anywhere close to blue. MANY fabulous colors in green, oranges, yellow and peach hues. I even saw one for $499.00.

Carolyn--That yellow is beautiful, but who can afford $499?
I have thought they can be expensive because they are so slow to propagate.
Here is a link to Logee's. It is where we got my yellow clivia & peach clivia: http://www.logees.com/searchprods.asp

WOW, SLOW? "Now you've gone and did it." Remember when, last year, we had this conversation???? Well I only split up one pot of my Clivia. Now you are going to make me get back out there and do the other 3 or 4 pots. I must have 40 or 50 of them. Now the ones I have split have little tiny babies next to them. I will let them stay there for a long time.

Just to you all know i have many local friends that don't do plants at all but love my Clivia. So I rent them out for, FREE :D :D :D Many of my friends have my plants sitting on their dining room table while they are in bloom and then I go get them and bring them back after they are done blooming. Rent-A-Flower Barb. :D :D

Barb--I meant to grow from seed. At least on my plant, from flower to ripe seed takes about 6 months. Then to plant the seed & have it grow to blooming size takes ??4-5 years??? I am guessing.
