    Hello Everyone,
I live in zone 5 and was wondering when is a good time to cover my crepe myrtle bushes? I bought a roll of burlap and am going to us fallen leaves to put around base of bushes. My bushes still have leaves on them but at night it goes down to the upper 30's here. Thanks for any help.

Which kind of crepe myrtle? Some go to zone 4. Got any pictures of habit, leaf, flower and bark?

Us too in a way. When planted we were zone 7 but now we zone at 8 unless you have magic mushrooms to share.

    Dirtmechanic,
Hi, I have two Crape Myrtle bushes. !- Northern Belle Hardy Watermelon Crape Myrtle bush and 1- Lagerstroemia Dark Roast bush. I just planted them in June and they are both only 15 inches high now. The green leaves are starting to turn red/orange now. Thanks for any help.

The Lagerstroemia does not belong there, zone 6. Watch for the encroaching temp ranges used to measure zone 6 and act early. Here is a usda map that can pinpoint your address and has the zone color legend below the map. Your Hardy is zone 5 so less work for you!
