I agree with Ronni. it may help ID the plant if others know your location. I am familiar with the vinca but not the one with the purple flower. I live in zone 5 and it may not grow this far north or maybe just not in my area. it just doesn't look remotely familiar to me.
How many petals does the flower have? Giving me a Ruellia vibe but I can't suggest a species from that pic.
