Just got my very first Hydrangea today. Been wanting one for years now. Am kinda scared I will do something wrong & it will die on me. The tag says to plant it up against a fence or wall that gets afternoon shade. I have a spot on the east side right up against my house. It will get sun til about 1:00 pm then will be in shade for rest of day. I have also read about the soil amendmennts it will need. Guess I am just nervous becaise I have never grown one before. Oh well, wish me luck.
Congrats Bosque,..yep you have it in the right location,..perfect spot,..they love water and even mine let me know they are not getting enough despite it raining here approx 200 days per year,..how big is the Hydrangea?.
Hi Phillip, it's small in a one gallon pot. It's a Nikko Blue. My indian paintbrush moved itself and came back. Guess who will be getting some seeds this year.
Bosque,..your Hydrangea will start off slowly and you will think it will never reach for the sky,..then suddenly you will find yourself pruning it,..they are very easy to grow from cuttings. Oh i like that Indian Paint Brush,..sort of Tangerine in colour ,..hope it seeds .
