    Sjoerd, the spots color depends on how the light hits them. If from behind, the spots are white, and if direct, they are silver. Frittilaries are the fashionistas of the butterfly world!

    Thanks for the answer. You are right about that. They are lovely to see, impressive. I so appreciate seeing your wildlife there. It is different than here.
