You may have to listen to this song a couple of times to understand it all, because the musici sing english with an exaggerated Dutch accent. To further make it challenging, they pronounce some Friesian words with a supposed english-speakers accent. For clarity, I can tell you that not all Friesians act and dress like the mob making the music. I do like the text though. Hope you like it. Fryslân boppe! p.s. If you have trouble understanding the song it has Friesian subtitles p.p.s. My Bride said that she wishes that they had Friesian. And english subtitles.
Thanks @Sjoerd for an interesting video. There's SO MUCH that I don't know . I had to look up the geography and history of Friesia. It was also interesting to read that along with Angles and Saxons, there was a bit if a Friesian migration to what is now England. Of course, there were also Romans, Danes, Norse, Norman and all of the Celts I suppose. The music was a bit wild for me, but it was fun learning. Thanks !
Great. I’m glad you sorta liked the vid. Not my sort of music either but Like I said, I liked the text. Haha. My forefathers on one side of my family were Friesians so I check things out there from time to time.
