    Hartelijk dank, Jerry.
This was a good start to the day— it made me smile...the Bride too! I liked the “ ijsjes en taart” as well as the facemask. That’s very current, mate. Chuckle.

Well, when we got up and came downstairs, the tea was made, the Bride went to the news and I came on here—I’ve got MY priorities straight, don’t I.

Shortly the fone rang and it was a happy birthday call. They sang our happy birthday song and expressed good wishes....more came. There was even people who came to drop off a gift by the outside door. I shall write about this special ( to me ) gift on a new and different thread.

At any rate I began answering this posting three hours ago. It was the fone calls and gifts. The Bride ordered some flowers to be delivered, so they will also be dropping by any time now.

    Thank you very much, EPalustris.

Thank you too Eileen and Ian. It means a lot, considering our past.

This has been a wild day so far— definitely a break from the usual lockdown routine. I feel rejuvenated and can now carry on another year if need be.

Thank you, Netty...I am doing my best.

The Bride’s flowers arrived, and I am well pleased. It is a bouquet of flowers that I have grown in our flower garden— Eustoma, Stacys, Delphenium. She calls it a masculine bouquet, but I told her I find it a gardeners’ bouquet. Whatever, I am chuffed to bits.

That book was also a gift. Perhaps some of you know it. The book contains many examples of street art on sidewalks and wall murals done in 3-D. It will require sitting down, undisturbed and studying the foto’s and text. I am looking forward to enjoying this.

Hi Mart, I know that flower prices over there are high...well, higher than here at least. That bundle of flowers cost five euro’s. Flowers are always very inexpensive here. Be that as it may, the thought was really nice. Gifts don’t have to be expensive for me to appreciate them. Chuckle. I did have a super day, thanks. It was a break in the routine and I got a great meal as well...a meal of my choice. It was just great.

KK...thank you so much and thank you also for the vid.

LOVE the flowers Sjoerd! I'm just amazed that cost 5 euros! I did a little conversion and found it would equal about $7.75 Canadian dollars. But here in Canada that bouquet would probably cost at least $75!

That is astonishing, Netty. If they would cost that much over here, I fear that the “ flowers in house” tradition would die out very quickly.

Exactly why I rarely have bought bouquets!
Hubby is smart enough to buy me potted plants for the garden, and so I can cut my own :)

Your hubs is indeed smart to your wishes and needs. Brilliant.
At my age people no longer ask me what I want for my BD because at my age, I have all I need so they bring flowers— always welcome for any occasion.
Pluuuuuu-uuuuus, its nice to cut your own. I am talking big, cos I do not often cut flowers from my lottie, because to be honest, they are primarily for the bees. Haha. But that doesn’t stop my Bride from cutting- away whenever she feels like it. Haha. Oh dear, can’t keep that woman corralled.
