Hopefully some of you remember this. I thought I had a shoot off the original plant. Well, it was a shoot from the main plant. Also there was a discussion about the little plantlets all around in the pot. It appears that they may me babies started from seeds scattered from the flower.

So this is growth from the parent plant. She didn't die....

These look like little babies from the original plant.

They don't exactly look like the parent plant but they must be starts from seeds of the flower before the parent plant almost died.

What does it look like to all of you Stewbies?

donm, I never saw the seeds. I am just seeing the purplish little plantlets. They are not green like the parent. they are also in the greenhouse and get soooo much light and heat.... we never put the shade cloth on this year....

Barb, I have no idea what the seedlings are, but keep growing them and see what they turn out to be. I would be surprised if they were the amaranth with the coloring they have, but stranger things happen all the time. Can you separate them and put them in different places to see where they thrive the best. I have never grown amaranth from seed before, but I can't remember anything that emerges such a dark color and fades to green either. Is the foliage fuzzy? they remind me of wandering jew foliage. Do you have any of those plants?
