    Aww, great pic Eileen! Do you get towhees where you are? This was kinda a no-brainer for me, one was singing outside my window. That and 2 varied thrushes. They are all loading up on sunflowers for the migration I think.

    No I'm afraid we don't Mary. :( We have a similar bird called a Stonechat but no Towhees. I took the piccie off the net just to let folks see what a Rufous sided towhee looked like.

    I'll post a stonechat piccie later - Photobucket is down at the moment.

    Very much so! Does it have the red eyes? That's usually how I'm sure I'm not looking at something besides a Towhee.

    No, no red eyes. They have what I call 'blackberry eyes' - black, round and glistening. :-D
