Well I don't think it's another vowel so I'll rule out I. How about V?

Eileen got it, Voxpoppers :) Never heard of them (unsurprisingly) but a quick Google search helped me out with the spelling suggestion. Thanks Google!

    WOW found this....

    -Artist / Group: Voxpoppers

-Rock group from Brooklyn, New York, featuring brothers Freddie, Sal and Harry Tamburo.

-Titles: The Last Drag / Wishing For Your Love

-Side two, 'The Last Drag', is an awesome, mid-tempo rocker which starts out with a cool spoken intro for maybe a half minute then breaks into a guitar driven instrumental solo for over a minute and then back to the vocal ending. One of the best "B" sides ever!

    -Label: Mercury 71282

    -Year released: 1958

    -American pressing

-Billboard number: 18 for "Wishing For Your Love"
