The butterflies have found my butterfly bush! YAY! There were two of these butterflies the same day on the bush. Dont know if it was same one but boy are they pretty. The wind was blowing hard so they didnt stop moving thier wings while they dined.

I have alot of dragonflies and damselflies in the yard. They have been moving in the last week. The damselflies move so fast and are very camera shy. I have been able to get a pic of them yet. Rob took these pics yesterday. The dragonflies seem to love my morning glories.

Im trying to catch a damselfly on camera. They are delicate and tiny. They look like little jewels with tiny wings.

Wowee wowee wow Denee! Great butterfly photos. I like how you captured the motion of the wings.

And dragonflies in the same set photos as well. I love it. Dragonflies look alien, they interest me so much.

Thank you Eileen!!! That's the name!! John and I should really be ashamed since John's dad has collected butterflies since before John was born and I have been around his collections for 14 years now!!!

I saw one in the yard a few mins today! He just flew around. There was an all black one with just a touch of blue but I didnt have the camera on me! So I went to grab it and came out and saw this little guy sunning himself in my driveway! My yard is ALIVE!!!

A small monarch? If it is, then just just come out of its cocoon. It was fanning its wings. Then would fly in a very low circle and land. Its flying was alittle off. Then after about 10 mins of this, he just took of like a bat out of...... h....e....double hockeysticks.

    Denee,
Your small butterfly is a Gulf Fritillary. It's caterpillar is most likely what has been feasting on your passion vine since that is it's food source.

I read up on this butterfly and see that alot are found on passion vines. I havent seen this caterpillar on my vine but if I do, he/she can stay. What a pretty little thing!
