Just wondering if anybody here has the commercial heat mat from greenhouse megastore. Looking at getting one and have some questions. What thermostat goes with it and do you have to wire it? Also wanting reviews on I power heat mats. Currently have a vivosun and heard they are a huge fire risk? Also feel like it didnt heat right last year as it never turned off. It always said heating on the thermostat. Barely any of my peppers ever germinated and I feel like malfunctioning heat mat was to blame. Tia.

Brian, I used one for the first time last year with mixed results. It worked very well, but after most of my seedlings had graduated to the hardening off stage, I was less attentive and the remaining seedlings fried! !

Hi @Brian1985 I don't grow things like mart but they're very pricey...I've seen some video's where people have just brought heaters where you adjust the heat and put a thermostat in there :)

@Cayuga Morning I use heat mats and have had to order another as one of mine self-destructed. I use an InkBird plug thermostat. You plug the thermostat into the power, then plug the heat mat into the thermostat and hook up the probe. Slide the probe under the mat and you can then dictate max and min temps. It simply turns the power to the mat, on or off, as parameters are met.

I use an electric blanket for my babies. This is a new one for them...10 hrs on. The size of the blanket depends on what you need.
    I love it.
