I have a problem collecting seeds from my brinjal/egg plant and okra. My thinking is that the seeds must come from the very first few fruits - first, second or third. These fruits always look so nice and yummy which make it very difficult to let them to reach full maturity so that the seeds can be harvested.

So my question is that is it ok to collect the seeds from the tail end fruits? Will the seeds from these fruit be good too?

The seeds from later fruits should be as good as the first ones. The only negative is, do they have time to fully ripen? They need to get very ripe in order to be viable.

Thanks Daniel. Yes I believe they do have the time to fully ripen because I will select the fruits for the seeds when the plant is in mid-life.
Right now I have a third new fruit on my egg plant and yes I am going to eat it! Thanks again.
