Glad to have found this forum. Haven’t looked around much but I can see it being a great resource and I hope I can contribute often. I am an immigrant from Germany (many, many years ago) that lives in the “Garden City” of Victoria, BC, Canada. I have been actively gardening for over 15 years, growing vegetables, fruit and flowers. My main goal with my gardening is to provide my wife and preschool-age daughter with as much fresh, locally grown produce as I can within the limits of time, space and money. I make mistakes just like everyone else but I focus on finding solutions to problems and mistakes. My other big passion is woodworking and I’ve used the skills I’ve gained in my garden in the form of outdoor structures such as custom-designed and built raised beds, a functional and attractive compost bin and a well-built cedar-framed greenhouse. It’s also one of my indoor winter hobbies when working in the garden is not pleasant – I can spend hours in my garage workshop creating.
