Hi, I am a gal in my fifties and I live in the PNW. I spent most of my life in Northern California and the learning curve is steep for growing plants in Oregon. I look forward to reading and helping where I can. Thank you!
The PNW has a great variety of plants that can be grown. What zone are you in. I’m in zone 8b. I have grown more lovely understory trees, vines, shrubs . Shade plants and full sun plants .Some of my favs are hydrangeas, clematis, lace leaf maples, /shrub roses, lilies, daylilies, and so much more. I started with raised beds brought in truck loads of soil . The clay soil originally was like concrete. 25 years later still gardening. Start with small beds until you need another. Join a garden club lots of great advice and lots of plants to share. Gardening is great therapy and personal growth along the way. Go to gardens tours and there are many beautiful public gardens in the PNW.
