Thanks for the tips all. I will redouble my deer abatement efforts. I like the idea of mothballs, a simple fix to try.

Oh! I am headed to Lowes right now. I'll get moth FLAKES, look for dried blood & coyote urine. Can't hurt can it? (Except the pocket book!)

Dried blood got expensive because of the laws on processing it now.

It's a product you use to keep away moths in wool. Walmart says they have it. I found moth balls did nothing but the flakes do, for sure.

Hmm. ..never heard of it. Wonder if it works on armadillo? What department of the store should I look in for some?

I got some blood meal, but you are right it is expensive. I'll hit walmarts later for the moth flakes. BTW only on the Stew would we have 2 members from 2 very different parts of the country heading to walmart for moth flakes for 2 entirely different critters! All because a 3rd member recommends it! I get a kick out of this website.

I'll definitely look for it. If its cheaper AND help keep the armadillos from digging up my flower beds, then I'm all for it

If we hear a loud scream from Pennsylvania we know that Cheryl's Armadillo arrived. :)

Cute pictures. I knew what I was looking at right away, and didn't quite make the connection with the title. It's still early and I haven't had any coffee yet.
I wish I had a camera to show what the deer do to the hostas at my church. I see they do the entire trim at your house, but funny they do it like a tonsure at the church, leaving a rim around the lower edges of the hostas. How appropriate!
