Last year my neighbor gave me this lovely dahlia. Dahlias won't survive the winters ourside here. I found that out the hard way several years ago. I didn't want to lose it so since I had the room, I just brought the whole thing inside before we started getting freezes here. I just cut it down to the dirt, watered once a month. Early spring brought new growth. It was too early to set it outside because of freezing tempatures. I just kept it inside, so this year it will remain a houseplant. I know if I were to set it outside it would fry. Its over 5 foot tall and just gave me its first bloom.
very pretty. if you do any propagating they are very east to take cuttings from and root. I have done it on ones I needed more of for a project I had a couple years ago.
