My son-in-law is a firefighter. He decided to cook the Christmas ham on his grill. We will never let him live this one down. He did rescue the ham as he had wrapped in foil. The grill and deck railing are another story. We all still had a very Merry Christmas. DSCN3224.JPG

Oh dear! Hope you were still able to salvage the ham!
This reminds me of the display fridge that my daughters soccer club had donated to them ... there was a problem with crossed wires and the fridge started smoking and almost caught fire!
Who donated the fridge to the club? The local firehall! :)

Hey, cut the guy some slack! He's a firefighter, not a chef. Didn't I read somewhere that firefighters are good cooks because they have to prepare meals when on 24 hour call? Guess that's another urban legend . . . .;)
We have a restaurant around here called "Firehouse Subs" which I will not be frequenting!

"Oh, oops. sorry, mom!" Glad you are all okay and you got to eat, too.

Jane we ate at a firehouse subs when we went to Kentucky a couple months ago. I think you would be safe stopping. We survived it.

Well at least your son in law would have been able to cope with putting out the fire!! So glad the ham was OK and the incident didn't spoil your Christmas.

At least it had a happy ending. This is one Christmas memory that will live a long time.
