Was again very bored - So this time I went to one of my favorite websites, The Art of Manliness! Thus I attempted to grill my own vegetables, and God, did it taste good or what! :D

Just oil the hot plate before placing it on the outdoor stove, and sprinkle a bit of salt on everything that you'll be grilling - That's all there is to it! :setf_028:

    Here is the video:

We do a lot of grilling in the Summer. Winter, not so much. Do you have beets there? peeled and grilled they are fabulous.

Beets? I have never grilled a beet. The next crowd of veggies to hit the grill will feature the little red orbs. :)

Oh, Jerry, you are in for a treat. They are fabulous.

S-H...You are bored way too often. I need someone to help me out weeding corn... maybe you could stay busy and occupied and not bored at all,... there are many interesting things to see as we are pulling weeds. all manner of bugs, toads, birds, spiders etc...every now and then the neighbor whinybutt child makes some whiny noises screaming at his brothers, but that isn't often and maybe you could have a heart to heart talk with him about all the noise he makes... :-D :D  I am thinking that should go over real well, but getting back to the weeding, when we are done there there are onions to weed, strawberries to weed, plastic mulch needs to go down in the watermelon patch... I may have some of this done before you get here, though.

Yes, I once knew someone from South Africa who said that grilling beetroot and putting that in the burger gives far better results then just pickled cucumbers. However I didn't have any beetroot at home when I attempted this last night.

Anyway, the most amazing thing was that onions and bell peppers somehow acquired a sweet taste after getting grilled. So all these vegetables I simply put in a few buns, with slices of cheese - Which really made something very interesting to eat!

Of course, eating grilled and bar-b-q food all the time increases the amount of free radicals in our body. So this too I guess needs to be eaten in moderation...

Right... Sure... Why not... Like trying to mix water and electricity - What can possibly go wrong??? :smt044

Why, I am sure not much. It should be a real electrifying event, though. and little Eric will be all hugs and kisses, too.

I make foil packets with squash, zuchinni, slices of new potatoes and onion for each person. Add salt & pepper a bit of butter or olive oil,,seal up and throw on the grill. Delicious!

Yes, that can be great too, specially if you add sweet potato into the mix, along with peas and lots of salad leaf! However I will not make any foil packets on my grill, as then there won't be any smoke and bar-b-q smells rising up - And so my neighbor (with whom I am always playing the game of one-upmanship) won't become jealous... So where exactly will be the fun in doing that??? :D

But there is one amazing thing that we all can do with such foil packets. And that is to place them alongside the exhaust manifold of your car's engine (before doing for a long drive). This way you won't need to stop anywhere to grab a bite! Really, it works very well, as someone I once knew used to do it like this - And boy was it delicious!

In fact here is a video of someone else doing this exact thing:

And so this saga continues, where I traveled the lands, (and the oceans too), to finally arrive at a place, a promised land - Where gluttony will now forever be put into overdrive! :D

"Arise you workers from your slumber,
All you dieting slaves, every single one,
The revolution now comes like thunder,
And so the age of starvation is done!

Turn off the weight watcher's delusions,
Become gluttonous, and enjoy the thrill!
    Declare your stomach's liberation,
Shake off the rust, and fire that grill!

As we see through their disinformation,
Their designs to dream us into doubt,
But soon the dieters in formation,
Will break their ranks, and starve no more!

And just as they think it's their right,
To sacrifice us to their dream,
They'll see we've just begun to fight,
Now it's time to change the world regime!

    So comrades come rally,
And the food fight, let us face!
    For the gluttonous Internationals,
    Now unites the human race!"

It's actually hilarious if we sing it to the tune of "The Internationale"
