Hello, everyone! I'm new to Garden Stew and I can't wait to get to know you all.

I'm a 20-something mum and currently owner of a gardening franchise business in the gardening industry niche. My business is part of an oh-so-popular brand in Melbourne and their really helpful with helping me transfer from a 9-5 job as a marketing specialist to a full-time business owner.
Yet, I feel there's lots of space for improvement and I'm willing to learn the ins and outs of managing a gardening company. I'm sure there are gardening specialists or business owners among you and I'll be extremely happy to receive advice on managing my small business.

    Happy gardening!

I don't own a franchise, just my own little greenhouse and produce operation. I grow bedding plants and hanging baskets for Spring sales and then I grow produce all Summer to sell. So, I am not sure that what I do can apply to what you do, but have a computer system for your bookwork. It makes it so much easier to keep it done and an accountant if your tax system warrants one. offer unique items and commodities to get them to come back after they have used it up and need more...people shop with their eyes. quality... quality... quality. and always smile. Your customer may not always be right but they are still the customer. Make each and everyone know you appreciate their business. They ultimately are what makes you your profit.

I would definitely carry a big line of Organic and natural gardening stuff. One thing that I use in my yard and garden to kill weeds is Vinegar. Also Hydrogen Peroxide is a great all purpose natural product that is good for killing fungus, molds and may other uses. Here is a great website to find out how to use it in the garden. www.using-hydrogen-peroxide.com I think having a list of good websites that people can get gardening info from would be another great asset. Like this one. :D

How exciting for you. What is the concept of your gardening business !! I assume if it is a franchise there are specific products you would develop/ market ? Sounds interesting !!
