    Yes, such sweet little critters!

I noticed this this morning. The beginnings of a flower stalk on Callisia fragrans, and I think I see 2 other sections making them. This smells SO GOOD!

Thanks, Theo!! Was re-admiring your plants again looking for your Callisia pic. Wow, there are some serious stunners!

These stalks have showed up suddenly on plants that were in different places outside for the summer. I don't see any coming from the dangling sections, just those directly in the soil, if that makes sense. (giggling...) if you can get close enough to your plant to check, several of the sections of your plant look big enough to make flower stalks, but I just don't know if the dangling pieces will do it. I hope you get some, I think they smell heavenly. Have only had this plant just under 2 years, so not too terribly familiar with it. You can see the stalk sticking up in this whole-plant pic.

Thanks, Theo. When a friend gave me a piece of this almost 2 years ago, it was just a broken dangler, which I stuck in soil. As you can see, it puts out danglers at an incredible rate and I've removed many of them to give to other people and to stick back in the pot, so that is why there are so many tops coming out of the soil. So far, there is no indication that the plant will produce any new stems from the soil, just danglers. If you would like to break some of the danglers off and put them in soil, that may be what is needed to get blooms from your plant.

If I see any flower stalks starting to come out of the dangling pieces, I will gladly post back to say my theory is wrong. If this is a wrong idea, maybe someone else can confirm that for us sooner. Has anyone had flowers come from a dangling piece of C. fragrans?

Theo, you have so-o-o many plants, it must be a huge amount of work, and you are obviously handling it. Super Congratulations. I once read a story of a woman who had a large garden of potted tropicals on her patio where she lived up north. In the autumn, she would cut them all back and put them in her basement with grow lights, then in the spring take them out, repot, and with lots of water and fertilizer, they all grew back, and adorned her patio all summer. Is this anything that would work for you?

Yes Theo... I move some plants in the house. Probably about 7 of them. I have about 12 other "tender plants" that I leave outside, but cover up when we have freezing temperatures.
