I like garden tomatoes much better than the greenhouse ones that you buy in the stores. I grew my tomatoes in pots this year. I move my garden around every year and somehow I ended up with only space under the walnut tree for the tomatoes. I wasn't sure they would grow under the walnut tree so I put them in pots. Two tubs ended up outside of the fence and my dog has been helping herself. She loves tomatoes too. Actually, any vegetable except carrots are her favorite. Tonight she had green beans in addition to her dry dog food. Dooley

Sorry I'm a bit late in welcoming you Tomatoman. Hope the forums meet with your approval. :D

I've just finished cropping my tomatoes for this year and a good crop it was too. :) Much tastier than the shop bought ones.

Looking forward to getting to know you. :)

Hello, I hope I'm doing this right. My name is Iain. I am a chef here in the Northwest. I am married (20 years to the same lovely woman). I am interested in gardening, cooking (of course) and do it yourself projects around the house. I am a Christian, a Mennonite. I have no children (unusual for a Mennonite I know!). That's about it.

Hi Iain and a big, warm welcome to GardenStew. I'm sure you'll love it here as we're a friendly (if slightly insane) group of folks. ;)

A chef??? Mmmmmm you might come in useful then for some new Christmas recipes. :D :D

Hi,my name is gnigel the gnasty gnome.
I grew up in the dark corner of my owner's garden, being peed on by dogs, crawled over by slugs and generally neglected.
This childhood experience has left an indelible mark on me to such an extent that i have become an evil gnome.
I now do contract killings, mostly other gnomes and some celebrities.I just love what i do.
My speciality is murders made to look like freak gardening accidents.Remember the drummer from Spinal Tap that was killed while gardening...that was me.
